Dive into the Spirit of the Season

Pumpkin Spice Lattes:

As the weather gets cooler, senior Claudia Seleme said she buys more hot drinks. Although she drinks coffee year around, seasonal coffees become a must.

“I would only go to Starbucks for the seasonal drinks, not just for the brand, but for the flavor,” Seleme said.

As for junior Adriana Santos, when the leaves start to fall, she looks forward to sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

“Pumpkin spice is my first love,” Santos said.

Boots:

In autumn, senior Emily Warwick prefers to be wearing LL Bean boots or her sperry’s. However, Santos gets into the spirit of the season by wearing stylish boots from Forever 21.

“I love boots in the fall,” Santos said.

Colors:

During the autumn Santos thinks of the colors orange, blue and green. Meanwhile, when Warwick thinks of this season, the colors Maroon, navy blue and gray come to mind. “I mostly wear navy [blue] and gray in the fall,” Warwick said.

Foods:

In the fall, specifically around Thanksgiving, Warwick eats a variety of different foods. “I usually eat mashed potatoes, and a lot of pumpkin pies,” Warwick said. Although Santos was enthusiastic about her pumpkin spice lattes, it she isn’t her favorite type of  pie.

“A few years ago, there were a bunch of pies set out on the table for Thanksgiving,” Santos said.

But everyone in her family knew that she hated pie with a passion, so a compromise was made.

“They knew I adored chocolate, so they decided to meet me in the middle,” Santos said.

Now she loves chocolate pie, a tradition her family recently started for her.
