Christmas time is here, and with it new treats from Trader Joe’s! But because it’s always hard to pick the best treat, I’ll try to help narrow down your options between two of them: the German Iced Gingerbread Soft Spiced Cookie and the Gingerbread Sandwich Cookie.
The German Iced Gingerbread Cookies come with a fun, festive packaging, with two cookies inside consisting of beautiful designs. Its icing certainly brings a nice touch to the smoothness of the sweets. The cookies are hard and fairly crumbly, but have a classic gingerbread taste with a nice sweet icing addition every bite. Other than the messy crumbs, nothing will be left of the cookie after you’re done. The messiness is the major flaw of the package, and of course the fact that there are only two cookies.
Onto the Sandwich Cookies. The packaging is not very… unique, per-say. The only coloring being the strap, but other than that the cookies themselves look appetizing and it comes with a good amount of them. There are nice sugary flakes on the top and the cookies are fairly chewy, which is good for a cookie in my opinion. The bites are certainly wonderful, each bite having a perfect amount of frosting and chewy gingerbread. The cookies are certainly not messy, unlike the German Iced Cookies. Its biggest problem is that they’re so small, it feels like I’ll accidentally eat all of them without looking at the calories.
If you truly had to choose between one or the other, I would certainly suggest the Gingerbread Sandwich Cookies, as while the German Iced Gingerbread was excellent, it was not as phenomenal, in my opinion. Of course, you can use my descriptions as an example as your taste buds may disagree, but now you know my choice. Now go forth, and try some Christmas cookies!
