Last year’s Dig Pink

Tonight, the volleyball teams will hold their annual Dig Pink volleyball game to raise money for breast cancer. LB will face Woodson. With prizes, a rivalry and a night centered around giving back, the matches are likely to be eventful.

The Dig Pink game usually occurs sometime in the month of October, breast cancer awareness month. Both teams that compete in the game wear their Dig Pink jerseys that are either pink or have pink and white on the jersey.

The stands are filled with pink balloons, and pink streamers line the gym to make it festive. There are pink baked goods for sale, and games and prizes are played during intermissions. To benefit breast cancer awareness, all proceeds from the night are donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

While the night will be exciting off the court, the game is expected to be intense on the court. Woodson is one of LB Volleyball’s biggest competitors, other than Robinson. Woodson has a record of 4-6, and LB’s record is 7-3.
