BURKE, Va- A job listing for the LB varsity head football coaching position has been posted on the official FCPS coaching page.

“Yes, it has been advertised. There are two cycles with the second cycle beginning Wednesday, we will be reviewing resumes and references and we will move forward,”  Director of Student Activities (DSA) Karl Kerns said.

Mel Morgan has been the point of contact during the interim period according to Kerns. Morgan declined to comment.

“We are moving forward,” Kerns said.

Jim Poythress had been the varsity coach at Lake Braddock for 13 years. Poythress will continue the rest of the year at Mountain View Alternative School, according to FCPS Public Information Officer John Torre.

Principal Dave Thomas was unavailable for comment.
