Madness Nearing Its End

The NCAA Basketball Tournament is down to its Final Four, which will be played Saturday, April 6 in Minneapolis. The games will be televised on CBS. The first matchup will feature the one-seed Virginia Cavaliers from the South region facing the five-seed Auburn Tigers from the Midwest. This is Virginia’s first Final Four since 1984, while Auburn is into the third weekend for the first time in school history. Tip is at 6:09 p.m. The first matchup will feature the two-seed Michigan State Spartans from the East region taking on the three-seed Texas Tech Red Raiders from the West. This is Spartans Head Coach Tom Izzo’s eighth Final Four, and he got here by way of an Elite Eight win over tournament-favorite Duke, 68-67. This is Texas Tech’s first Final Four in its program’s history, as they knocked off one-seed Gonzaga in the West Regional Final. Tip is at 8:49 p.m. The Championship game will be played Monday, April 8, with tip at 9:00 p.m.
