Kavanagh orders his parts online. Kavanagh said, “Building computers is like building LEGOs. You have to put everything in the right place.” Brendan only has one computer although he did say if he had more money he would build more.

Using better parts will help provide for a faster computer. You can build computers with less money, but the computer won’t be as good as it would be if you payed $800 for the parts.

A Dell laptop can be made for around $200 and be sold for around $300 although all laptops are different. The more frames per second (fps) your computer can run, the faster programs with graphics can operate.

For example, games and movies will have better and faster graphics when played on your computer, which means no lag.

Building and selling computers is a way to make money. You can build one for around $800 and easily get $1,500.

Computer building is becoming more common nowadays. Based on the parts you buy, you can get a better computer than purchasing one from a store.

Kavanagh uses his computer for school-related purposes and for gaming.

Another student and friend of Kavanagh, Dylan Fox, builds computers of his own.

He got his parts from Microcenter for $800. He was going to sell his computer on Craigslist, but decided it would be best to keep it for himself even though he got a $1,500 offer.

A skill like this is good to have if you are interested in computers, because there are jobs where computer skills are important.
